Karolina Szadek

Karolina Szadek is anesthesiologist, pain specialist and palliative care consultant working at the anesthesiology department of Amsterdam University Medical Centers, location VUmc. She wants to improve the quality of life of the patients recovering from the surgery, patients with chronic benign and oncologic pain and patients in their last phase of life.

She was born in Poland, where she followed her medical study at Silesian Piast Princes Medical Academy in Wrocław. Thereafter she worked as anesthesiology and nephrology assistant. Since 2001 she moved to Amsterdam where she continued her training and became anesthesiologist.
She did research on anatomy of SI joint, making a diagnosis of SI joint pain and the therapy of SI joint pain.
